Starting with Sunday January 4th in 2026, the group will read and discuss the Kashmiri Shaivism text "Netra Tantra" translation by Dr. Bettina (Sharada) Baumer.  This text will also be the subject of the annual HYMTA retreat in 2026.  Below is a description of "Netra Tantra". 

The Netra Tantra is one of the authoritative scriptures of non-dualist Kashmir Shaivism (dated not later than 700 AD) with important sections on Yoga. It is the only Tantra on the Third Eye of Shiva, and it is also called Mṛtyujit or mṛityuñjaya, “the Overcomer of Death”, relating to the form of Shiva revealed in it and to his mantra. The Netra Tantra expounds the subtle energies inherent in the great "Maha Mrityunjaya" mantra, The commentary by Kṣemarāja (early 11th century) is an important help in understanding this profound text and its practice.  The current translation is authored by Dr. Bettina "Sharada" Baumer, a renowned expert on and a disciple within Kashmiri Shaivism.
